  • Lenten Guidelines

Ash Wednesday, February 18, and Good Friday, April 3, are days of fasting and abstinence. Fridays of Lent are also days of abstinence.

Fasting is to be observed by all 18 years of age and older, who have not yet celebrated their 59th birthday. On a fast day, one full meal is allowed. Two other meals, sufficient to maintain strength, may be taken according to each one’s needs, but together they should not equal another full meal. Eating between meals is not permitted, but liquids, including milk and juices are allowed.

Abstinence is observed by all 14 years of age and older. On days of abstinence, no meat is allowed. Note that when health or ability to work would be seriously affected, Church law does not oblige. When in doubt concerning fast and abstinence, the Parish Priest should be consulted.

  • As we've done before, on each Friday of Lent, we will have a meal at 5:30pm before Stations of the Cross. The cost varies depending on the group hosting, but are typically around $7. The schedule is as follows:
    2/20- Ecuadorian Meal
    2/27- Mexican Meal
    3/6- Philippine Meal
    3/13- Vietnamese Meal
3/20- Knights of Columbus Fish Fry
3/27- Knights of Columbus Fish Fry
  • The Knights of Columbus and the Columbiettes are holding a food drive on behalf of Catholic Charities. Their goal is to collect 1,000 pounds of canned goods in the next three months. Catholic Charities is a local organization which identifies and helps those in need in our community. Please consider dropping off an item or two over the next several weeks!
  • The Youth Choir rehearses on Friday evenings at 6:30pm. New members in grades K-8 are welcome to join. Rehearsals will continue on most Friday evenings and the choir will sing once a month at the 9:30am Mass. If you have any questions about joining, please contact Karen Rainey.
